Bydd yr hanesydd Wyn Thomas yn archwilio hanes hir protestio yng Nghymru, gan ganolbwyntio'n benodol ar wrthsefyll peilonau a datblygiadau ynni. Gan osod dadleuon cyfredol mewn cyd-destun hanesyddol ehangach, mae Thomas yn archwilio sut mae cymunedau Cymreig wedi symud dro ar ôl tro i amddiffyn eu tir, eu tirwedd a'u hunaniaeth ddiwylliannol rhag pwysau allanol. Mae'r sgwrs yn ystyried newid amgylcheddol, buddiannau economaidd a'r cydbwysedd rhwng datblygu a diogelu, gan dynnu ar frwydrau'r gorffennol i oleuo'r heriau sy'n wynebu Cymru heddiw. Bydd y digwyddiad yn cael ei gadeirio gan y newyddiadurwr Cymreig adnabyddus a'r cyflwynydd newyddion adnabyddus ITV Wales, Ron Lewis.

Wales: Past, Present and Future

Historian Wyn Thomas explores the long history of protest in Wales, with a particular focus on resistance to pylons and energy developments. Placing current debates in a wider historical context, Thomas examines how Welsh communities have repeatedly mobilised to defend their land, landscape and cultural identity from external pressures. The talk considers environmental change, economic interests and the balance between development and protection, drawing on past struggles to illuminate the challenges Wales faces today. The event will be chaired by acclaimed Welsh journalist and long-serving ITV Wales news presenter Ron Lewis.
