Buchaillard and Miller write from the perspective of two women who migrated to Wales and made their life here. In their most recent books, Assimilation and Fall River, these two novelists question what it means to belong, to a place or a particular identity, in a contemporary Britain which feels increasingly polarised and fragmented. They invite you to reflect on whether the stories we tell shape who we are, and how changing the narrative might help bring welcome transformation.’

Sophie Buchaillard's second novel Assimilation is a tale of unravelling family secrets, belonging, betrayal and inherited trauma. It is a story that challenges where we come from and has a particular emphasis on making a home in Wales.

Sophie Buchaillard was shortlisted for Wales Book of the Year 2023.

Born out of the Tamar River landscape on the border of Cornwall, Fall River traces the relationship between London and the regions of Britain. This is a story about those who rise up and those who are forgotten, about the love and the anger that connects them. Blending crime fiction with the magically real, this novel breaks new ground in genre and representation.

Meredith is is currently restoring a chapel as a literary and cultural space for the Welsh language.

Mae Buchaillard a Miller yn ysgrifennu o safbwynt dwy fenyw a ymfudodd i Gymru a sefydlu eu bywyd yma. Yn eu llyfrau mwyaf diweddar, Assimilation a Fall River, mae’r ddau nofelydd hyn yn cwestiynu beth mae’n ei olygu i berthyn i le neu i hunaniaeth arbennig, mewn Prydain gyfoes sy’n teimlo’n fwyfwy rhanedig a thameidiog. Maen nhw’n eich gwahodd chi i fyfyrio ynghylch a yw’r straeon rydyn ni’n eu hadrodd yn llywio pwy ydyn ni, a sut y gallai newid y naratif helpu i ddod â thrawsnewid i’w groesawu.’

Llyfr am gyfrinachau teuluol, perthyn, bradychiad a thrawma yw Assimilation, sef ail nofel Sophie Buchaillard. Mae’n stori sydd yn herio ein cynefin ac yn rhoi pwyslais ar ymgartrefu yng Nghymru.

Cyrhaeddodd Sophie Buchaillard y rhestr fer Gwobr Llyfr y Flwyddyn yn 2023.

'Wedi'i geni allan o dirwedd Afon Tamar ar y ffin â Chernyw, mae Fall River yn olrhain y berthynas rhwng Llundain a rhanbarthau Prydain. Stori yw hon am y rhai sy'n codi ar eu traed a'r rhai sy'n cael eu hanghofio, am y cariad a'r dicter sy'n eu cysylltu. Gan asio ffuglen trosedd â'r reality hudolus, mae'r nofel hon yn torri tir newydd o ran genre a chynrychioliad.'

Mae Meredith ar hyn o bryd yn adfer capel i greu gofod llenyddol a diwylliannol ar gyfer yr iaith Gymraeg.
